20 things people only own if they're ridiculously rich, apparently

There's first day of payday rich, when you splurge and buy yourself an ever so slightly more expensive pair of jeans, because hey, why not?

And then there's so rich that you never have to look at how much you have in your bank account, because you will always and forever have money in it.

Here are twenty items you could own if you fall into the second category, partly inspired by this thread on Reddit:

1. Walk-in humidor

Humidor's are those little wooden boxes designed to keep one's cigars fresh. They tend to retail for anywhere between £5,000 and £80,000.

Now imagine that, but a room.

2. Maid/gardener/maintenance/cook all living on the property

Nothing like a live-in maid to pick up after you.

3. A glass door fridge for beverages

Surely a fridge is enough? How many bottles of water do you really need?

4. A guest house

Friends coming to visit? Just set them up in your guest house, fully equipped with property management.

5. A house in another country(ies)

While you're at it, there's nothing like relaxing in your second house along the French Riviera.

6. Garages with lifts

To store that Ferrari, Pagani Huayra, Aston Martin One-77 and Lamborghini Veneno.

7. In-home cinema

Equipped with a popcorn machine and your very own pic-n-mix, served to you by the butler.

8. Safe room

Not a panic room but an actual room with an actual safe. Don't trust the bank.

9. In-home pool and Jacuzzi

Because owning an actual swimming pool was the benchmark for wealth when you were a child.

10. Sensors in the house that detect body heat, in charge of air-conditioning.

Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie?

They exist. And they're expensive.

11. Anything from jeweller Van Cleef and Arpels.

They deal with expensive jewels - diamonds, emeralds, rubies - and in order to find out the price of anything they have, you must request it.

But if you need to ask 'how much?' you probably can't afford it.

12. Wine cellar

To store that £8,300 bottle of France’s Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Romanee-Conti Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits

13. Truffles: not chocolates, but the fungus kind

You can’t find these truffles in the fancy section of Thorntons chocolate - they’re actually a type of fungi, or black mushrooms, and can retail for approximately £800 for one pound.

£800 for fungi.

14. Private everything

Private plane, private club, private spa, private doctor...the list goes on.

15. Boat

For sailing and boat parties.

16. Dubai First Royale MasterCard

This credit card has an actual diamond on it, and ownership is through invitation only.

17. Pre-nups

Prenuptial agreements are surely for those that have significant assets to protect?

18. Foie Gras and Almas Beluga Caviar

Fois Gras is fattened goose liver and Almas Beluga Caviar (fish eggs) can be yours for the bargain price of £20,000. For one kilogram.

19. Trust funds

There's nothing like having parents who've put away a pretty penny for you to use when you're 'of age.' Where do you think the term 'trust fund baby' came from?

20. Tibetan Mastiffs

The rare breed of dog was sold for £1.4 million in China. And it's probably the only justifiable thing on this list.

Because look at that face:
