A parent who was asking people about moving his unvaccinated son’s bedroom outside is being mocked for his question.

In a Facebook post, a man called Jonny said he was thinking about moving his child’s bedroom outdoors as the “weather is getting nicer” and asked for advice about what kind of furniture to buy.

He began: “The weather is getting nicer.”

My son, Jericho (not vaccinated), never wants to make it in by curfew. I am planning on moving his bedroom outside. I’m not looking for this post to turn into a debate, REBECCA. Just looking for recommendations for outdoor furniture for a 2 year old boys room. His favorite color is yellow [sic]

There are so many questions.

Firstly, a two year old has a curfew?

Also, what does Jonny mean by moving his child’s room outside? What if it rains?

It’s not clear why the father felt the need to mention the unvaccinated status of his son, but people pounced.

One Facebook user jokingly wrote: “My daughter Epsom Salt (not vaccinated) wants to make her home among the wild squirrels in our backyard and I’m looking for recommendations of feeders large enough to accommodate a 1 year old girl. Her favorite [sic] color is rabies red. Please don’t turn this post into a debate, REBECCA.

Another added:

Jericho was a city that was destroyed because it was open to attack after its walls collapsed. Makes it a painfully ironic name for an unvaccinated kid.’

One person asked:

I mean, why not let a two year [old] live outdoors unsupervised?

You didn't vaccinate him so you've already committed to a casual relationship with the uglier side of Mother Nature. May the odds be ever in your favour.

Last week Facebook announced that it would be monitoring anti-vaccination posts on its social media platforms as they are seen to be a form of misinformation.

Monika Bickert, Facebook's vice president of global policy management, said in a statement.

If a group or Page admin posts this vaccine misinformation, we will exclude the entire group or Page from recommendations, reduce these groups and Pages' distribution in News Feed and Search, and reject ads with this misinformation.
