Apple have launched a new metal credit card and everyone's comparing it to Fyre Festival's Billy McFarland's Magnesis

Yesterday, Apple launched its brand new services during a flashy event at the tech company's headquarters in California, however there was only one question on Twitter users' lips.

During the live event, Apple CEO Tim Cook was joined by the great and the good of US celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey, as he announced the tech giants' latest services: a streaming service to rival Netflix called Apple TV+, and a brand new titanium credit card imaginatively called the Apple Card.

Giving further details on the credit card, Apple explained that it would be part of a groundbreaking new paying service and that the titanium card would have no CVV, no expiration date, and no credit card number. Instead, all the vital information would be saved in the Apple Wallet app.

So far, so snazzy, right?

Well, many Twitter users couldn't help but scratch their heads, as they thought the whole thing sounded rather familiar.

Hasn't anyone at Apple ever watched the Fyre Fest documentary?

Many couldn't help but notice that the new, flashy card sounded almost exactly like ill-fated Fyre Fest founder Billy McFarland's first ever project Magnises, the credit card and elite social club he came up with before the disastrous music festival.

The main attraction of Magnises? It was also a posh metal credit card.

All Apple needs now is some white dome tents, some dodgy catering, and an incredibly enthusiastic noughties rapper called Ja Rule and they'll have themselves the 'influencer event of the century'....And it'll be time for the rest of us to make a quick exit...
