BBC accidentally calls the Large Hadron Collider a 'Hardon Collider'

Almost five years after the paper misspelt the Large Hadron Collider as a 'Hardon Collider', the BBC made the same mistake when reporting on the machine being restarted.

We particularly enjoyed the 'coming up' caption above the typo:


The image has been verified by BBC trainer Marc Settle, who checked the recording, and the mistake was captured for posterity by a YouTuber.

A BBC spokesperson said: "There was an unfortunate typing error within a caption during the BBC News Channel's coverage of the Hadron Collider restart. This was quickly corrected."
