Stephen Fry is back on the Brexit beat again.

Whatever side of the Brexit debate you’re on, most can agree that it has become increasingly toxic in recent months. Despite hopes that the referendum would settle the issue, the debate rages on.

There’s been so much Brexit shrieking and truth-bending that sometimes it’s hard to tell what's true and what's not. Thankfully Fry, the ever-reasonable bastion of knowledge, has come to lend a hand. Fry has made a new video that separates truth from lies.

Firstly, Fry took on the fact that politicians seem to have a penchant for making up poll numbers which suit their arguments.

After the apparent surprise of Trump and Brexit, Fry asks:

How reliable are the polls?

Fry quoted a recent study that checked 30,000 polls from 45 countries. Surprisingly, the study discovered that accuracy hasn’t changed in 70 years.

Fry suggests that whilst polls did account for Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote, they could not predict the Electoral College.

Next he pointed to new polls which suggest that Britain has changed its mind on Brexit. By an increasing margin, polls show that Remain is ahead of Leave in most polls. On this, he says:

If a democracy can’t change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy.

Fry then delivers a final zinger towards the prime minister, saying that Theresa May has “mastered the art of lying with a grain of truth”.
