Charles Bronson, one of Britain's most notorious prisoners, has announced he will be changing his name to Charles Salvador in tribute to the surrealist painter Salvador Dali.
Bronson, born Michael Gordon Peterson, revealed the news in a bizarre 'obituary' letter, published on the Charlie Bronson Appeal Fund website.

"It just happened. Just came about, a thought, a vision. A new me," the letter explains. "[Bronson] had a good run. Never beaten. Kept his morals.... Come on, the boy done well. But he's finished. His time stopped ticking.
"It's now Salvador all the way to Disneyland. Your [sic] welcome to join the ride..."
