As the world continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, people are devising ways to look out for one another.

One woman has come up with a simple (and very cute) way to reach out to people in her community: a PDF postcard offering practical help that anyone can print and distribute.

Hours after Boris Johnson announced Britain was to enter the ‘delay’ phase of the response to the pandemic, Becky Wass was troubled by the uncertainty facing us all, so decided to do something about it.

She made a postcard and has been putting it through the doors of her neighbours. You can spread the word and download a PDF of her postcard that is free to print or share.

It reads:

Hello. If you are self-isolating, I can help.

People can then fill out their name, address and phone number, then tick boxes indicating how they can help. The options include picking up shopping, posting mail, a friendly phone call and urgent supplies.

Just call or text me and I’ll do my best to help you (for free!)

The card comes as people across the country begin to wonder what life is going to be like for the next few months, particularly for the most vulnerable people.

After the PDF went viral on social media, Wass said:

I’ve been so overwhelmed with the positive reaction it has had. I really feel that kindness is going viral.

The campaign comes amid reports that the government is considering ordering older people to stay indoors over the next few weeks.
