January 10 is the anniversary of the death of British icon David Bowie. British Gas mourned by plugging their opening hours.

In a tweet on Tuesday morning, the customer help arm of energy company British Gas mused on the idea of tempus fugit.

And then told you they were available until 10 pm.

Wow.

Just because Blur gave you the rights to "the Universal", doesn't mean you get to relate every British musician back to something "British" Gas.

Also "time flys" and "don't it?".

indy100 isn't the sort to point fingers over grammar, we all make mistakes, but if you are going to segue from the dead into business hours, do it with the simple present tense.

Bowie fans, and most humans, were not best pleased with the company.

"Paul" who signed off an apology from the account protested that it had been meant to be in better taste.

Some came to his defence.

It all feels rather silly, if we're honest.
