Trump said Russia helped him get elected then immediately tried to backtrack

Less than 24 hours after accidentally admitting that Russia helped his election campaign, Trump is now trying to desperately backtrack.

The president stunned Twitter yesterday when, in a rant aimed at Robert Mueller, he highlighted Russian interference in his 2016 election, writing:

Russia, Russia, Russia! That’s all you heard at the beginning of this Witch Hunt Hoax...And now Russia has disappeared because I had nothing to do with Russia helping me to get elected. It was a crime that didn’t exist. So now the Dems and their partner, the Fake News Media...

But the online reaction to this tweet was enough to force Trump to walk back on the statement.

Speaking to press shortly before attending the US Air Force Academy to deliver a commencement speech, Trump said:

Russia did not help me get elected. You know what got me elected. I got me elected.

Sadly it seems like the president hasn't learned that's what is posted on the internet, stays on the internet... forever.
