Dr Bandy X Lee might not be much of a fan of Donald Trump, but she's followed his latest advice to the letter.

In a tweet that was widely received as the President shifting blame from his government and onto victims, Trump urged Americans to report threats in the wake of the Florida school shooting.

This is despite the FBI failing to act on a tip warning about the suspected shooter.

In an op-ed for the New York Daily News, Lee wrote:

We have an analogous situation with a dangerous leader who has access to far more lethal weapons than an AR-15.

Following the President’s words, I am reporting again to authorities, both as a citizen and a mental health professional, and making a record here.

In December last year, the Yale University psychiatry professor reportedly met a more than a dozen Democratic members of Congress plus one Republican Senator about Trump's mental state.

She is also the editor of 'The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump', in which 27 psychologists, psychiatrists and mental health professionals assessed the President's mental health.

In the op-ed, she quotes plenty of aggressive remarks made by Trump, including:

I’d like to punch him in the face, I’ll tell you…. I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks.

And:

So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously. Okay. Just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise.

And:

I would bring back waterboarding. And I’d bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding.

Trump later tweeted this:

Lee agrees with Trump that so many signals is unacceptable - and that's why she urges him to act on what she thinks is his own "dangerousness".

Considering Mr. Trump as one of the authorities, I am following his words to say: Mr. President, please submit to a proper examination.

If you do not wish to, you can always resign. Your dangerousness concerns the position you hold and the arsenal you have access to.
