Elon Musk sent a secret message aboard the car he shot into space

Right now, a cherry red car with a dummy for a driver is floating through deep space blasting David Bowie from the speakers.

Nothing gets much cooler than that, right? Wrong. Launching it into an even higher orbit of outrageously cool is this message branded onto the circuit board:

Made on Earth by humans.

Just in case any aliens want a lift, you know.

Elon Musk, the SpaceX CEO and man behind the launch of the Falcon Heavy rocket that released the Tesla roadster, revealed the message on Instagram.

This isn't the only exciting, nerdy detail that Musk has added to the car.

He also gave a nod to Douglas Adams' 'The Hitchhikers's Guide to the Galaxy' by writing 'Don't Panic' on the dashboard.

The car's dummy driver, dubbed 'Starman' (after the David Bowie song, obviously), will potentially float through space for millions of years to come.

Space oddity, indeed.
