As we all know, Friends was a great show and it was way ahead of its time.

For example, it was one of the first major TV shows to feature a lesbian wedding.

It's also spawned some pretty wild internet theories about various plot lines as well.

Most amazingly of all though, some people think it managed to throw forward to another award winning TV show.

Cast your mind back to Season 6, episode 7, otherwise known as The One Where Phoebe Runs, which was broadcast on 11 November 1999.

During a scene from that episode, Ross explains to Chandler the possibility of humanity being able to download their thoughts and memories to a computer and effectively live forever.

The esteemed Dr. Gellar states:

By the year 2030, there will be computers that can carry out the same amount of functions as an actual human brain.

So, theoretically, you can download your thoughts and memories into this computer and live forever as a machine.

Sound familiar? It's not entirely dissimilar to the excellent Emmy award winning episode of Black Mirror, San Junipero.

Despite being incredibly uplifting, the episode depicted a world where anyone can live forever as a 20-something in a virtual world, even if their physical body has passed away.

Pretty astonishing right? Still not convinced? Well, thank Netflix for putting together this small video which was shows this unlikely occurrence.

"Who made heaven a place on Earth?" Ross Gellar, that's who.
