Ivanka Trump doesn't think that American people want a 'guaranteed minimum wage' and everyone made the same point

Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the president, heiress to a billion-dollar fortune and the creator of 'millions of jobs' believes that the American people aren't in favour of a guaranteed minimum wage.

In an interview with Fox News, the 37-year-old advisor to the president was asked about the recent proposals by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that her staff should be paid a 'living wage.'

Her response has raised a few eyebrows as she believes that hard-working Americans across the country do not want these sort of guarantees and would rather live in a country with "potential for upward mobility."

I don’t think most Americans, in their heart, want to be given something. I’ve spent a lot of time travelling around this country over the last 4 years.

People want to work for what they get. So, I think that this idea of a guaranteed minimum is not something most people want.

They want the ability to be able to secure a job. They want the ability to live in a country where’s there’s the potential for upward mobility.

Given the fact that Ivanka is saying this from an extremely privileged position and has probably never had to earn a job she has had in her entire life speaks volumes.

This astonishing bit of ignorance and outright disregard for the citizens of the nation that she is supposed to represent has not gone amiss on Twitter.

Let's not forget just how well her real estate deals have gone down in the past either.

Even people who aren't AOC fans felt that this message from Ivanka missed the mark.
