'You're full of s**t!': Joe Biden lashes out at worker questioning him on key policy

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden got into a heated exchange with a Detroit auto worker about proposed gun control laws on Tuesday.

As Biden walked through the construction plant in Michigan, one worker came up to him and challenged the 77 year-old former VP about why he wanted to “take away our guns”.

The worker said to Biden:

I’d like you to explain how you’re not only going to keep us working, but how you intend on getting the union vote when there’s a large portion of the union workers that are gun enthusiasts and you are actively trying to diminish our second amendment right and take away our guns.

Biden immediately shot (no pun intended) back:

You’re full of shit.

After someone next to him tried to shut down the exchange, Biden turned to her and told her to be quiet.

Turning back to the worker, he responded:

I support the second amendment… I have a shotgun, I have a 20-gauge, 12-gauge, my sons hunt… I’m not taking your gun away at all.

Dissatisfied, the worker then argued:

But you were with Beto [O’Rourke] when you said you were going to take our guns.

To which Biden responded:

I did not say that.

Biden went on to explain he’s previously said he wants to take assault weapons like AR-14s away.

The video that the worker is referencing is one that was making the rounds on Facebook earlier this month.

In it, Biden is sitting in a restaurant and said O’Rourke will “change the face of what we deal with in regard to guns and assault weapons”.

The title of the video was shared on Facebook as “Joe Biden says if he wins he's coming for our guns”.

This caused Facebook to put a disclaimer on the video that features “partly false information”.

Biden also previously said at a campaign rally in Dallas earlier this month that O’Rourke would “take care of the gun problem.”

But Biden has not actually said he’s planning to take all guns away.

It's not the first time Biden's come under fire for comments around guns.

The 77 year-old falsely claimed:

150 million people have been killed since 2007 when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability. More than all the wars including Vietnam from that point on.

This is grossly overestimated.

If Biden was right then approximately one third of the US population would have died from gun violence.

Figures show that the number of deaths is actually 373,663, which is still a worrying figure but still falls considerably short of the amount voiced by Biden.
