Offset tried to win back Cardi B live on-stage – and fans were not impressed

Cardi B and Offset’s divorce is the biggest drama in hip-hop right now.

After months of cheating rumours, Cardi B announced she was leaving her husband earlier this month.

And over the weekend, Offset made a last-ditch attempt to win her back by crashing her headline set at Rolling Loud Festival with written signs begging for forgiveness.

Unsurprisingly, Cardi was not impressed.

Fans on social media agreed, condemning Offset's behaviour as “manipulative” and “creepy”.

But some users were suspicious that the whole incident was an elaborate publicity stunt organised by the two rap stars.

Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif even had to deny the festival planned Offset’s appearance in a statement released on Sunday.

Cherif said:

Headliners and their teams have full control of the stage and who is allowed on it during their set at Rolling Loud. The festival does not interfere with or influence a headliner’s set list.

We have never and will never do anything to change a headliner's set. We were tipped off that something was going to happen, but had nothing to do with the organization or execution of it.

Meanwhile, other users weren’t taking sides in the controversy and were just here for the drama.

Notorious bad boyfriend John Mayer also weighed in by writing a song to “help” Offset win Cardi back.

After the event, Cardi responded to the backlash by asking her fans to go easy on her estranged-husband, who is the father of her child Kulture.

In an Instagram post, she said criticism of Offset “doesn’t make [her] feel any better.”
