P!NK stopped her show halfway through to console a grieving fan who had just lost her mum

Singer P!NK was halfway through a concert in Brisbane on Monday night when she suddenly stopped the show to comfort a young, grieving member of the audience.

14-year-old Leah Murphy was holding a sign up for P!NK to see, explaining to the singer that her mum passed away and that she needed a hug.

"My name is Leah - I'm 14 years old. I lost my beautiful mum last month. I would LOVE a hug... Please!" the sign read.

In an interview with The Courier-Mail, Leah said: "P!NK read out sign and straight away said where's Leah?"

She added:

She came down the stairs and gave me a big, long hug.

Leah had her picture taken with the singer and posted the image on Instagram:

The Courier-Mail reports that Leah's mother Debbie had bough the tickets to P!NK's Sydney show and had planned to go with a friend.

However, Debbie tragically passed away in June and Leah, who bonded with her mother over P!NK's music, decided to go in her stead.

The particular show in Sydney was cancelled by P!NK due to illness, so Leah's family secured tickets to her Brisbane show.

Several audience members caught the beautiful moment on film:
