After saying Hurricane Irma was a liberal climate change hoax, Rush Limbaugh just quietly evacuated Florida

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh claimed Hurricane Irma was exaggerated to prove the global warming "lie".

But that same 'liberal hoax' was destructive enough for Limbaugh to then reportedly evacuate Florida.

He announced on his Thursday show that he would be off air for a few days:

I'm not going to get into details because of the security nature of things.

But it turns out that we will not be able to do the programme here tomorrow.

We'll be on the air next week, folks, from parts unknown. 

This was a great contrast to what he was saying on on the air on Tuesday:

There is a desire to advance this climate change agenda, and hurricanes are one of the fastest and best ways to do it. 

You can accomplish a lot just by creating fear and panic. 

Limbaugh's comments came at a worrying time, as some of his 15 million listeners may believe it's safe to stay behind after he appeared to dismiss the storm's destructiveness.

Right before announcing the change in his show's broadcast location, he mulled over how right he always is (in the third-person):

The views expressed by the host of this programme [are] documented to be almost always right 99.8 per cent of the time.

Today Show meteorologist Al Roker tweeted that Limbaugh was "putting people's lives at risk."

Limbaugh later argued:

I explained how severe weather events are opportunities for big ratings boosts in the media and explained how it happens.

I explained how severe weather events impact retailers and how some retailers are smart enough to coordinate advertising with television stations. It happens! It doesn't mean it's bad. It happens. It helps to explain things. And that's all I do.
