Sir Ian McKellen, scrambled eggs, and possibly the strangest instructional video we've ever seen

It’s Friday, so here’s Sir Ian McKellen making some scrambled eggs, naturally.

The recipient of six Laurence Olivier Awards, a Tony Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BIF Award, two Saturn Awards, four Drama Desk Awards and two Critics' Choice Awards, has blessed us with one of the most bizarre instructional videos, ever.

Sir Ian said:

You’re lucky because these are the best scrambled eggs in the world and like all good recipes, it’s a family one, it comes from my stepmother Gladys.

The two time Academy Award nominee, four time BAFTA nominee and five time Emmy Award nominee advised in his infinite wisdom:

There’s no mixing up in advance, everything’s got to be mixed up in the pan. When pouring

This is single cream, milk will do. But it’s just guesswork, really. That’ll do.

Butter, that’s the other essential ingredient. That’ll do, I don’t know how much that’ll weigh.

He then proceeds to add ground pepper and salt of a completely indeterminable amount.

About that much, in it goes!

Sir Ian, we love you, but please help us a bit.

He then winks to the camera before the taste test, confirming they are indeed the best eggs in the world.

We're giddy.

As the final note on a masterpiece of a video, the top comment was quite possibly the greatest Facebook comment we've ever seen:

"Live from Chateau Marmont in Hollywood," I scramble up the best eggs in the world for my Facebook followers, to celebrate the success of my new film "Mr. Holmes".
