The 25 cities in Britain with the most single people

Ahead of the third series of its fly-on-the-wall documentary First Dates, Channel 4 has collated data from the last census to find the cities in the UK with the largest proportion of single people.

While 34.7 per cent of British people are single (i.e. not married or registered in a civil partnership), the findings show that four cities in the UK turn out to have more singletons than those with a partner and, perhaps surprisingly, London doesn't even make the top 10...
