These pictures would all be illegal to take now

Photographer Amos Chapple was one of the first to try using drones in his work.

He travelled the world for two years, taking aerial photographs with a camera mounted to a quadcopter drone. But now consumer drone use is banned in many locations, and Chapple says the pictures below would be illegal to take now without obtaining special permission.

"There was a window of about 18 months where it was possible to fly these things anywhere and people were excited to see it. I’m glad I made use of that time," Chapple told Business Insider. "The window is now pretty well closed for drone photography in many of these sites."
