Trump's doctor explains why he's taking unproven malaria drug to 'prevent' coronavirus

Donald Trump has shockingly admitted that he has been taken the unproven and potentially deadly Malaria drug hydroxychloroquine, to combat coronavirus.

The medication has been proven to show no benefits against Covid-19 and has even been discredited by the FDA as it could result in "serious and potentially life-threatening heart rhythm problems."

However, despite the president showing no symptoms of coronavirus he told reporters on Monday that he had been taking a pill every day after several members of his administration tested positive.

As mentioned, Trump's own FDA had advised taking the drug so how did the president wind up taking this as part of his daily intake of Diet Coke and burgers?

Well, a letter has now been released by the president’s own physician Dr. Sean P. Conley, the same man that said Trump was in "very good health" which appears to suggest that they both agreed that he could take it.

It reads:

As has previously been reported, two weeks ago one of the president's support staff tested positive for Covid-19. The president is in very good health and has remained symptom-free. He receives regular Covid-19 testing, all negative to date.

After numerous discussions he and I had regarding the evidence for and against hydroxychloroquine, we concluded the potential benefit from treatment outweighed the relative risks.

In consultation with our inter-agency partners and subject matter experts around the country, I continue to monitor the myriad studies investigating potential Covid-19 therapies and I anticipate employing the same shared medical decision making based on the evidence at hand in the future.

So, that basically says a whole lot of nothing and doesn't even confirm if Trump is actually taking the drug or not and it would appear that others agree.

Although there are reportedly two trials underway to test if the drug will work against coronavirus it is highly irresponsible for the president to claim he is taking an unproven and potentially influence the public, especially when he refuses to take basic precautions like wearing a mask when around others.

Hydroxychloroquine has already had dire effects in the United States, with one man in Arizona dying from the drug after he heard Trump championing it on television.
