Trump brags that Hollywood celebrities will secretly vote for him because they're 'greedy' in bizarre interview

Trump has claimed Hollywood celebrities will secretly vote for him because "they're greedy".

In a bizarre interview with Fox News's Laura Ingraham, he said:

Beverly Hills, California: many many people voted for me, and then I’ll see them on television saying bad things!

And they say, you know that person voted for you? A large percentage of people voted for me.

They don't want to lose their wealth. They're greedy people. They don't want to lose their wealth so they'll talk one way, but they're going to vote another way.

Current polls suggest Trump will receive less than half the votes Joe Biden will win in California. A similar outcome in 2016 saw California vote blue.

Hillary Clinton trounced Trump in Hollywood's home of Los Angeles, with 2.4 million votes to his 77,000.

Numerous Hollywood celebrities have endorsed Joe Biden for president.

Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Reese Witherspoon to name but a few.

There's no evidence to suggest that any of them are insincere in their support for the Democrats: De Niro, for example, has been very vocal in his criticism for Trump, even beginning a speech at the Tony Awards in 2018 by saying "f*ck Trump". He received a standing ovation from the other celebrity attendees.

Perhaps Trump is forgetting that he was something of a celebrity himself.

If celebrities are "greedy", what does that make Trump – a former TV host with a net worth of around $2.1bn?

His criticism of Beverly Hills is particularly ironic, given that he owned a house there between 2007 and 2019.

Maybe Trump is just feeling a little jealous of all of Joe Biden's celebrity endorsements – after all, he didn't exactly round up a star-studded line up to speak at the Republican National Convention, unlike the Democrats.
