Trump mocked with 'Art of the Deal' jokes after failed talks with Kim Jong-un

Donald Trump's momentous meeting with Kim Jong-un in Vietnam was supposed to be the crowning of one of the biggest deals that the president had ever cemented.

However, just as their talks were getting underway on Thursday, they were abruptly cut short as it quickly became clear that neither side could get the deal they wanted.

According to Trump, the talks broke down after North Korea demanded that the US-led sanctions be lifted.

Basically, they wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety, but we couldn't do that ... we had to walk away from it.

Trump added that North Korea had vowed not to continue any more missile testing with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stating that there would be further meetings in the future.

For Trump, a man who has prided himself and virtually made a career on getting great deals, this has to be a humbling moment as he couldn't achieve what would have been a significant goal.

However, an exclusive story from MSNBC claims that North Korea did get something out of the talks as they no longer have to disclose full accounting of their nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programmes.

With news of this agreement being reached and Trump's failure to get anything else over the line people flooded to tweet 'The Art of the Deal,' one of Trump's most well-known books, to mock the president's negotiating tactics.

At least Kim's friend, Dennis Rodman, thought that Trump was doing a great job.
