Trump said he 'doesn't know' Prince Andrew but these pictures tell a different story

Donald Trump press conferences are a disturbing (or, more precisely, disturbingly entertaining) spectacle.

But when the president is overseas he tends to take things up a notch: the metaphors are more extreme, the hand movements are exaggerated and the topic can change at any second.

In a mammoth 50-minute long presser, the 'stable-genius-in-chief' veered from NATO, to the Democrats and the ongoing impeachment hearings against him.

But another topic of discussion came up: Prince Andrew.

Amid the fall-out from the prince’s disastrous interview with BBC Newsnight and Panorama’s interview with Virginia Roberts Giuffre – who claims she was trafficked by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and forced to have sex with Prince Andrew – Trump was asked for his views on the topic.

He responded:

I don't know Prince Andrew, but that's a tough story, it's a very tough story, I don't know.

Though, as with many things in Trump world, this might be an “alternative fact”.

On Twitter, people began posting photographs of Trump and the prince together.

We don’t know what Trump’s definition of “knowing” someone is – after all, you can be seen with someone without knowing them. But the men were close enough to be photographed together numerous times, even before Trump became president.

Since billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein took his own life in prison, Trump has peddled conspiracy theories about the disgraced sex offender's death as he was also photographed with Epstein numerous times before he died and is even seen talking to him at a party at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
