Game of Thrones final season teaser trailer released

Game of Thrones fans are pointing out a huge flaw in Donald Trump’s latest reference to the HBO series.

The US President posted a photo promoting his proposed border wall between the US and Mexico on Instagram. It boasted the slogan “The Wall is Coming”, parodying the “Winter is Coming” motto of the Stark family in the fantasy series.

However, fans immediately pointed out that Trump’s poster is inaccurate as – in the world of Game of Thrones – walls most certainly do not work.

The most recent episode of the series saw the destruction of the giant wall that was designed to keep White Walkers from entering Westeros.

“Walls Work, Trump Says In Front Of Poster Parodying Show Based On Premise That They Don’t,” one person tweeted, with another writing: “I take it he’s never seen how well walls work in Game of Thrones.”

You can see a selection of other tweets below.

This isn’t the first time Trump has referenced Game of Thrones. In November, he shared a poster featuring the words: “Sanctions are Coming.” The same poster could be seen in a photo taken from the cabinet meeting held in the White House on Thursday (3 January).
