On Monday, SpaceX in conjunction with Nasa, launched four astronauts into the solar system on a mission to the International Space Station but they were joined by a very special guest; the one and only Baby Yoda.

It's been a while since we were inundated with memes of Baby Yoda, or The Child as the character is actually called, but thanks to the new season of The Mandalorian on Disney+ he is back and apparently now in space.

A plush toy of the cute critter was spotted on the livestream of Sunday's launch from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida and the toy is reportedly being used as a zero-G indicator so when Baby Yoda starts floating around they know there is no longer any gravity holding anything down.

Eagle-eyed viewers of the launch noticed the beloved Star Wars character floating around and were very happy to see him doing a great job of helping his colleagues out on their important six-month mission on the ISS.

The Crew-1 team has already arrived on the ISS with Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi bringing Baby Yoda aboard. Other members of the team are Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker. May the Force be with them.
