Grimes and Elon Musk’s son may only be five months old, but he might already be more cultured than you.

The infant son of the singer and entrepreneur has already had an adventurous (and highly publicised) life so far as one of the most prominent celebrity quarantine babies. His name, X Æ A-XII, is still an enigma. (Your computer is not glitching, that is his name.)

Now, Grimes has revealed that she continues to raise her child (who she calls X) exactly how you’d think she would: by showing him Apocalypse Now.

In an interview with The New York Times, the eccentric artist explained that babies have taste. “They definitely like some things,” she said. “They don’t like other things. They fully have opinions.”

X’s cultural palette goes beyond gritty war epics, he’s also a fan of “radical art.” She continued: “Like, he just actually is, and I don’t think it’s problematic to engage with them on that level.”

In the interview, Grimes also shared how her baby influenced her new musical collaboration with AI. (Which, by the way, is the most Grimes-like thing you could ever hear.) The singer partnered with Endel, an app that produces music to sleep to, and hoped to find a better sleeping situation for her baby. X gave feedback on the music, as Grimes would cut out any sounds that elicited cries. She explained:

When you have a baby, you're always using white noise machines. It's much easier to get them to sleep if you train them on some kind of audio situation. And so I was just like, could this be more artistic? In general, stuff for babies is really just creatively bad.

Now that baby X is quite the tastemaker, we’d be interested to know baby X’s thoughts on The Godfather while we’re at it.
