Lady Gaga is no stranger to hard work. In fact, since the coronavirus pandemic turned the world upside down, she’s constantly been trying to find new ways to make things better.

Tonight the singer’s One World: Together At Home concert will be watched by millions of people who’ve been confined inside their homes for weeks in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19. Funds from the concert will be donated to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Gaga has put a lot of effort (like, a lot) into getting wealthy people to donate to fight against coronavirus. Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen, told Variety that the Oscar-winning singer has played “a leading role” in getting corporations and rich backers on board with the project.

She and her manager, Bobby [Campbell], and her colleagues have literally set up a little war room

Gaga even got Apple CEO Tim Cook on the phone to donate $10m (£8.1m).

A host of celebrities are expected to appear on the broadcast, including Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish, Elton John, John Legend, Chris Martin, Andrea Bocelli, Lizzo, Maluma, Kacey Musgraves, Alanis Morissette, Billie Joe Armstrong, J Balvin, Burna Boy, Stevie Wonder, Eddie Vedder and Keith Urban.

The virtual concert will be streamed across Facebook and Twitter tonight.

As a creative mastermind, Evans says Gaga has also been very hands-on with curating the lineup and making sure the show is a once in a generation experience for music lovers everywhere.

Incredibly, Evans says they have received close to $5m a day in donations since the project began.

Gaga has received a lot of praise for her work on the project. Instead of lecturing from her mansion, she’s done something about it and put her creative brain and considerable resources to good use.

Now some fans are even calling for her to be given the Nobel Peace Prize and, to be honest, we’re kind of obsessed with this concept.
