Mark Hamill is 63 in September, and the late, great Alec Guinness was 61 when filming first began on the original Star Wars in 1976.
Hamill, who is returning for the new Star Wars films, directed by JJ Abrams, revealed himself yesterday to slowly be morphing into Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Speaking at the UK premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy about getting the chance to return to a galaxy far, far away, the actor told the BBC: "It was fantastic. Again - I thought even if they did a third trilogy, we wouldn't be involved, because it is really about the new generation of characters.
"We are just there to lend our support and grow contractually-obligated beards."
