A frightening video has gone viral after combining Matt Hancock’s glare with Hannibal Lecter’s best lines from The Silence of the Lambs.
Hancock posted the original video, filmed in Euston, on Sunday in which he is seen menacingly approaching the camera while extolling the virtues of the Tory manifesto.
The politician is seen staring down the lens in a manner not dissimilar to the Bittersweet Symphony video.
Twitter user, Sarah Mackie was inspired to create a mashup in which Hancock’s stare is combined with Anthony Hopkins dialogue from the 1991 classic, such as the immortal line:
A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.
Needless to say, it's rather excellent and people have enjoyed it immensely.
More of this kind of thing. This election will only be tolerable with more references to 1990s Oscar winning movies.
