The US presidential election is still a year away but Trump's team are already on the campaign trail and have released a truly puzzling video, featuring the president as Marvel villain Thanos.
The video which was shared on Tuesday on the Trump War Room Twitter account as an attempt to criticise the Democrats for going ahead with the impeachment.
The tweet reads:
House Democrats can push their sham impeachment all they. President Trump's re-election is inevitable.
In the video, Trump appears at the "Mad Titan" Thanos. He says "I am inevitable" and snaps his fingers, just like in the movies.
The clip then cuts to a video of Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who then turn to dust and blown away, just like the movies but not all the movies.
While Trump's team probably thought they were making a funny and relevant cultural reference, they actually managed to get it embarrassingly wrong.
Warning: The rest of this article will contain spoilers for both Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.
You see, the footage that they use of Thanos is from Avengers: Endgame where the villain unsuccessfully manages to "snap" away the Avengers after Iron Man steals the Infinity Gems and uses them against Thanos and his army.
If they would have used footage of Thanos snapping his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War then the video would have made sense, but they didn't, so and many have been happy to point out the error of their ways.
Also, why would they want to portray the president as the villain?
Bernie Sanders campaign team have created their own version of the scene and, to be honest, we're not sure if it's much better.
There is a chance that the video might get taken down for copyright infringement, something that has happened to Trump before.
Jim Starlin, the comics legend who originally created Thanos for Marvel comics has lashed out at Trump for using his character to promote such a message.
In a statement to the Huffington Post he said:
After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer.
How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end.
