Jacob Rees-Mogg tweeted 'no deal is still better than a bad deal' and people weren't impressed

With parliament’s meaningful vote on Theresa May’s Brexit deal looming, the sparks are beginning to fly on social media, with Remainers and Brexiteers taking swipes at each other.

Prominent Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg took to Twitter to repeat one of the most overused phrases of the post-referendum era: “No deal is better than a bad deal”.

Though not everyone was prepared to accept such a statement from Rees-Mogg, a multimillionaire businessman who has reportedly moved some of his business interests to Ireland in anticipation of Brexit.

Quick to point this out was Labour MP David Lammy, who shot down Mogg’s suggestion that no-deal is an acceptable Brexit outcome.

Twitter was quick to weigh in and was predictably divided, with many siding with Lammy...

And others sticking by Rees-Mogg and Brexit.
