A dog went on BBC News and the nation stopped in its tracks

Once upon a time, Bounce the Dog appeared on BBC News to a superfluous caption, and the nation lost all perspective.

Brace yourselves, my children, for that chaotic time has returned.

Jamie McConkey, a BBC News journalist, tried to warn us all...

..but it was too late.

Daniel appeared following a scientific report which found that dogs may be able to feel empathy.

He appeared with his owner Deena, who said that Daniel had been able to tell when she had been injured and had behaved compassionately.
