Let's be honest, the world can be a pretty depressing place, even at the best of times.
If only there was a way of bringing a bit of joy and colour into our lives when it feels like all is lost.
Allow us to introduce you to the heart-warming work of Iraqi artist Mokhallad Habib.
By using images from his home country, usually of war-torn regions or people in distressing situations, Mokhallad uses cartoon characters to brighten up scenarios and make even the worst moments a little bit happier.
Speaking to Indy100, Mokhallad, who also works as a pharmacist, explained the inspiration behind the project.
I always try to look at things in a positive way and to make people smile by mixing my art with reality.
I try to create beautiful cool things out of the sad views of my country and tell the message in a cool and funny way.
I try to find new unique ways of creating a new art to make what I do different and special.
I believe that artists should be talented as well as intelligent enough to create an art which makes him different.
