Boris Johnson just won a poetry competition.

The former Mayor of London and Brexit poodle pitbull was recently announced as the winnner of the Spectator's President Erdogan Offensive Poetry competition.

That he used to edit the publication had absolutely no effect on this result, we're sure.

The competition aimed to encourage freedom of speech and asked for entries that were: "as filthy and insulting as possible about Recep Erdogan."

This was in reaction to the pulling of a German late-night comedy programme which involved a rude poem about Erdogan written by Jan Böhmermann, who has since been banned from repeating the verses by a German court, following a request from Turkey for an investigation.

Anyway, here's Boris' winning poem.

There was a young fellow from Ankara
Who was a terrific wankerer
Till he sowed his wild oats
With the help of a goat
But he didn’t even stop to thankera.

The Brexit bard has decided to give his prize money of £1,000 to charity.

So everyone's peachy, really.
