Cadbury have released a beer version of their famed Creme Egg chocolate but fans of the classic treat are unsure of what to make of it.

The chocolate makers teamed up with Goose Island on the “Golden Goobilee” product, which was launched in celebration of the Creme Egg’s 50th anniversary.

A description on Goose Island’s website reads:

“This egglectic blend of malted barley, oats, wheat and milk sugar provides a deliciously rich and creme-y texture, with cacao nibs and vanilla beans that lift the crème and chocolatey notes to deliver a celebratory beer that is smooth, rich and eggselently balanced.”

The Creme Egg beer first went on sale on Wednesday, before shortly selling out.

A final release of 500 packs is due to take place at 11am on Monday.
