Labour is having a surprising night, and seems to have shocked even the architects of their campaign - Jeremy Corbyn and Emily Thornberry.

Photos from their election counts (the two Labour politicians represent neighbouring seats in the 2015-2017 parliament) show the pair embracing and posing for photographs.

At one point, Corbyn tried to high five Thornberry.

It got a bit awkward.

Jeremy please. Coordinate better.

Emily, don't leave your boss hanging. He may well be your boss for a long time now.
