Exactly how much more school holiday kids in Europe get, in one chart

School's out across the entire Northern Hemisphere at the moment.

While British kids are revelling in a month and a half off school, they might feel a bit short-changed looking at data compiled by the European Commission on the organisation of school time across the continent.

Primary school children in the UK only get six weeks off for the summer - the least of anyone - along with Denmark and Germany.

Our Irish and Gallic cousins get nine weeks off - but Greece and Portugal (12 weeks off) and Italy (an incredible 13 weeks of summer holiday) top the league table, as this chart from Statista shows:

Lucky buggers. Mind you, we bet their parents aren't so happy about it.
