A five-year-old boy has stepped down from his role as mayor of the town of Dorset in Minnesota after two years in office.

Robert Tufts, who declared ice cream a necessity while in office, said he had enjoyed the role: "Nobody could arrest me, not even a cop." He will be replaced by 16-year-old Eric Mueller.
