A dog who was due to be put down, having been rescued, is now on tour posing with the world's finest monuments.

Kala Kutta, a dog from India without a companion, was rescued in 2010 in Bangalore.

A note on the Facebook for Kala explains:

John and Rochelle were working in Bengaluru when they fell in love with a black street dog that live outside Rochelle's office.

'She was thin and so a friend and I started sharing our dinner with her.'

Over the next few months, I grew quite attached to her and John and I decided to call her Kala Kutta, which means black dog in Hindi.

They explain that when Kala became pregnant, the local authorities threatened to put her down, in order to keep the local dog population down.

To save her, John and Rochell chose to adopt her, and gave her puppies to a local animal shelter until they too could find families.

Since then, Kala Kutta has become a bit of a world traveller.

According to her Facebook fan page she has been to 21 countries so far.

Here she is Spain:

San Marino:

The Netherlands:

Italy:

London:

England:

Portugal:

France:

Switzerland:

In Norway she made it to the top of a mountain:
