This Grandma's wrong number created a lovely Thanksgiving tradition.
In November 2016, Arizona 17-year-old, Jamal Hinton received a surprise invitation to Thanksgiving dinner from a total stranger.
When Hinton alerted his mystery texter, the anonymous Grandma offered him a plate anyway.
Of course you can.
That's what grandmas do...feed everyone
The sweet exchange was posted online, and went viral.
The grandma, Wanda Dench, reportedly changed her number because of the flurry of texts she received from other keen prospective attendees.
According to NBC, Dench had been trying to invite her grandson Brandon.
The pair met shortly after the story went viral, and then when Thanksgiving 2016 rolled around, Hinton was there at the table.
Hinton told NBC
She is a very sweet lady...She told me her husband was a veteran and she always invited his friends over for dinner, so she’s used to having a lot of people over.
I just got a vibe from her that made me feel at home.
And it was the beginning of a beautiful tradition.
Posting from his Instagram, Hinton shared a new Thanksgiving snap with Wanda, taken 2017.
Speaking to the Arizona Republic, Dench said;
It was really nice having everybody here.
We got to laugh about last year and reminisce about how it all blew up on our phone and how I had to change my number.
We had a laugh and a good time.
