A poll has revealed the most popular words of wisdom that Britons picked up in childhood and continue to use later in life.
The research was conducted by the NSPCC children’s charity and marks the launch of a campaign highlighting the role that good advice can play in shaping a child’s life.
There’s no time like the present
Never say never
It’s not the winning, it’s the taking part that counts
Two wrongs don’t make a right
Good things come to those who wait
You can’t judge a book by its cover
Manners cost nothing
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try and try again
Treat others how you’d like to be treated
Practice makes perfect
