Nowadays we take the television for granted as they are basically everywhere. Why...you can even watch television on your phone during the morning commute.
Once upon a time, televisions were sought after commodities, which were literally the talk of the town, despite there being only one or two channels on the box.
This brings us nicely to this video from 1977 that the BBC Archive Twitter account shared on Wednesday, where a woman recounted her memories of what it was like when she and her family first got a television.
What starts out as an honest and frank take on what it was like to own a television during that period, quickly transforms into a fantastic five-minute monologue which has captured the imagination of everyone that has seen it.
The clip has already been viewed more than 1.6 million times on Twitter and to say that people love it would be an understatement.
