After a cascade of allegations, the furious rallying cry rose in the closing months of last year, sparking a global reckoning over sexual harassment and assault.

The #MeToo movement comes with a lot of promises - and Cardi B isn't sure they are being fulfilled and doubts that it will change much in the hip-hop world.

In an explosive interview with Cosmopolitan, where she discussed her struggles as a black artist and her past life as a stripper, she said that video models are typically silenced when they discuss the issues they deal with:

A lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a fuck.

When I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, ‘You want to be on the cover of this magazine?’

Then they pull their dicks out.

I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a ho. It don’t matter.’

And what about the men who have publicly embraced #MeToo? Cardi isn't convinced.

These producers and directors, they’re not woke, they’re scared.

People are applauding the rapper.
