Remembering the time Ivanka Trump accidentally shared a Christmas family photo with the confederate flag in the background

In 2017, Ivanka Trump decided to share a set of post-Christmas family photos online.

It featured her son, and her husband Jared Kushner on a fishing trip.

...Except people quickly noticed something in the photo with Kushner.

Yep, that’s a Confederate flag in the background.

The flag has been a source of controversy for its racist undertones.

The Southern Poverty Law Centre says it is viewed by many:

...White southerners as an emblem of their heritage and regional pride despite its association with slavery, Jim Crow, and the violent residence to the [US] civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s.

It was a…unfortunate accident.

But eagle-eyed Twitter users were having none of it

Others pointed out that it was nothing more than a coincidence

Still, not a great look.
