The internet can be a bit of a dumpster fire of hostility, bad takes and Trump tweets.
But occasionally, just sometimes, social media can show us that it’s not all bad.
One of these rare moments happened this week when British father and mental health worker Edmund O’Leary tweeted to say that he was “not ok” and feeling at “rock bottom”.
What happened next showed the kindness of people at its very best.
The tweet went viral and O’Leary was flooded with supportive responses from across the world.
People sent things they thought he’d like…
Others commended his bravery.
Others sent messages about aviation, a passion of O’Leary’s.
Even Dublin airport got involved.
