Piers Morgan said 'Gold is all that matters'. Olympians and the public didn't agree. Morgan being Morgan won't let it go.

Attempting to bludgeon Twitter critics into silence requires Olympian strength and Piers Morgan is definitely doing his best.

It all kicked off when he tweeted:

Many members of the public disagreed. They felt that reaching the Olympics and competing alongside the best athletes from every nation, did matter.

The following battle was terrific.

His old foe Gary Lineker chimed in.

It didn't take long for there to be some jibes about Morgan's own 'bronze medal' career.

One person may have gotten to the bottom of Morgan's kamikaze tweets.

The best bit was when he decided to sass some Olympians.

Good God man. Have some humanity.

Not even Lineker can save us now.

As this was being written, Morgan was still taking on every punter with an Wi-Fi connection.
