Donald Trump appears to have become the Republican presidential nominee after victory in Indiana on Tuesday forced closest rival Ted Cruz out of the race.
After Trump's resounding win in the state, despite Cruz effectively taking residence and naming Carly Fiorina as his running mate just last week, Cruz told his supporters:
We gave it everything we've got, but the voters chose another path.
Following his concession speech he turned to hug his wife Heidi, and his father Rafael.
It was a clumsy effort at best:
Let's take a closer look at that:
Perhaps he was simply venting his frustration at his party fielding a candidate who wants to build a wall between the US and Mexico, has no idea how he'll fund his immigration policy, has no climate change policy whatsoever and thinks it's a hoax, wants to repeal same-sex marriage, has gone back on his original mantra of de-funding planned parenthood entirely to only cutting its abortion services, says his Isis plan is to "bomb the s--- out of them", has proposed no limits on guns whatsoever, wants to scrap any plans for universal healthcare and has proposed a total ban on Islam?
Roll on Clinton v Trump and six more months of this circus.
