Travelling is stressful, and we all know it.
But Alyson Hershelman was spared what started off as a nightmare trip after rushing to check-in for a US domestic flight, queuing unnecessarily for almost an hour and losing one of her pieces of hand luggage.
All of this with a toddler in tow.
She, along with her husband and their baby, missed the flight.
Though the family was put on a later flight, both mum and dad were seated far away from each other, in the dreaded middle seat.
If not for the kindness of two strangers…
To the gentleman that switched seats with my husband without us even asking him to do so, you have no idea what such a small gesture meant to us.
And to Shelly, the sweet woman that held our toddler daughter to let her look out the window (and even take a short snooze!), words can't express how truly grateful we are to have sat next to you.
Hershelman posted the story on the Facebook page Love What Matters, and it was liked almost 20,000 times in less than two days.
Parents on Facebook were quick to commend the two strangers, and share their own 'angels':
I was once the person to hold a toddler like yours to look at the window on the plane, and she took a short snooze too!! I was feeling kind of sad that day, and this little girl was stressing her parents out, so I put my sad feelings away and just took her... guess it made us both feel better!! I'm a Mexican mother who just loves toddlers!
Chelsea Lynn Mann:
When I flew alone with a toddler and baby a wonderful woman next to me immediately offered to hold the baby. She spoke only broken English so we only understood a few words from each other but she was so sweet with my little one as she spoke and rocked her giving me a nice break. It was without a doubt a lovely experience
