How Spotify responded to Apple's new rival streaming service

Apple launched a new music streaming app on Monday, Apple Music. The service, which rivals Spotify, will launch on June 30.

As well as streaming, it will give access to new global radio station Beats1, run by former BBC presenter Zane Lowe.

Spotify's CEO and founder Daniel Ek, didn't seem impressed welcoming it with a now-deleted two word tweet saying "Oh ok". Despite being removed from his profile Twitter archiving service favstar saved it for posterity.

Ek later tweeted a link to an interview given before Apple's announcement but where he welcomed their anticipated competition, saying: "The growth has essentially been just Spotify. If we now get more players into this space, we can increase the growth even faster than we have."
